Meet Our Pastor

Jerry Liebert is a native of Richmond, Indiana. He was saved in 1962 while in the USAF, and graduated in 1968 from Baptist Bible College in Springfield, Missouri. Later, furthering his education,  he graduated with honors from Atlantic Baptist Bible College, in nearby Chester, VA.

A pastor for more than 35 years, Brother Liebert is an experienced teacher of the Word of God. In each service practical scripture lessons effectively apply eternal truths to the trial and circumstances of our daily experience.

Personal growth is the goal of every member of the church. The congregation is actively reaching out in ministry from Varina, Virgina, to the most remote regions of the world.

Jerry has been married to his wife Ann for over 35 years. They have two children and six grandchildren.

It would have to be someone who has never visited Varina Baptist Church. At Varina we open the Word of God to provide genuine answers to the tough questions that are part of our daily lives. Here families are strengthened, the hurting are comforted, and the weary are encouraged through the compassionate ministry of scriptural truth.

Our warm and caring congregation believes that it is exciting to be actively involved in a church dedicated to meeting the needs of a world of people facing the challenges of the twenty-first century.

In every ministry of Varina Baptist Church, people come first. They alone are the reason that Jesus Christ died, and they are the heartbeat of our church.
