Meet our Co Pastor

Jay Bertrand was born and raised in Lynchburg, Virginia. It was also here that, as a fifteen year old boy, he was born again - led to the Lord by a Liberty Baptist College student in a Christian bookstore.

Ten years later, Jay would graduate from Liberty University with a B.S. in Christian Ministries, knowing that he would go wherever God wanted him to go. After graduating with a B.A. in Missions from Atlantic Baptist Bible College, Jay and his wife Becky, along with their two daughters, Bethany and Katy, went to the field of Belgium as Church Planting Missionaries. They remained there for nearly ten years where they established an international church and Bible Institute. Winning people to Christ and discipling them is Pastor’s Jay’ greatest hobby, so when it came time to leave the mission field of Belgium, he knew he wanted to serve in the same capacity on home soil.

When friend, fellow ABBC grad, and supporting Pastor Jerry Liebert asked him to consider joining the growing ministry at VBC, he prayed and soon realized the opportunity was obviously from the Lord.
